Symptoms

Acupuncture and herbs are both an integral part of Chinese medicine practice, which may help patients to manage an aspect of a condition or a range of symptoms associated with the disease.

Pain is a symptom of many diseases and conditions. Acupuncture can help with pain relief and management related to certain conditions such as back pain due to muscle spasms and strain, neck pain due to muscle tension, knee pain due to osteoarthritis, headache due to tension and migraine, hip and leg pain due to sciatica, and lateral elbow pain due to tennis elbow, etc...

A Chinese medicine practitioner treats patterns of disharmony (or symptom clusters) in a patient. Acupuncture treatment may assist with the management of symptoms of certain conditions such as::

• Pain, stress and fatigue related to some autoimmune disorders, in consultation with other treating health practitioners

• Pain, fatigue and nausea related to many chronic diseases and conditions

• Tension and fatigue associated with premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

Qi has a particular interest in offering pregnancy support and working with patient with fertility issues through treating patterns of disharmony (or symptom clusters) in a patient; there is some research evidence that Chinese medicine treatment may assist in supporting specific infertility treatments such as IVF, and there is also broad agreement by Chinese medicine practitioners and other health practitioners about acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for IVF. Many health practitioners may recommend acupuncture as an adjunct treatment that may assist with IVF treatment. There is continuing research about how acupuncture can assist with the effectiveness of IVF treatment.
